OUR STORY

AfricaWorking was conceived by more than 30 multinational companies after meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa at the 2015 World Economic Forum. This meeting was focused on finding solutions for their greatest Pan African challenge, finding ready to work human capital. These businesses and industries lacked the ability to find enough African human capital at every level for their companies and organizations. There companies and industries need people with the knowledge, skills, experience and personal leadership to grow business.

From this meeting they formed the “Human Capital Development Initiative of Africa” (HCDIA) tasked to find solutions and establish a plan for Pan African execution. During the (HCDIA’s) research phase a group of experts and implementors from around the world were identified along with the best solutions for creating skilled and experienced human capital for every type of career in every industry. With these experts, implementors and proven solutions, it was determined that a collaborative organization needed to be organized to execute a Pan African human capital development plan. Thus, the creation of AfricaWorking – Empowering People & Growing Business.

We invite all companies from every industry and of every size to join us as we bring together all stakeholders in the creation of a demand-driven employment and business growth ecosystem to sustainably impact the 500 million youth caught in the Pan African unemployment / underemployment epidemic.

There are approximately 500 million unemployed or underemployed, barely surviving. Neither the labor markets nor development aid alone can solve the youth unemployment epidemic.
Rather than making donations we deliver and invest inge scaleable human capital development, the creation of employment and business growth ecosystem solutions to sustainably make this change.
